Shania Twain back in Concert with a new residency in Las Vegas, Nevada!

One of the things on my personal bucket list, was to see Shania Twain live again before she retires or moves on as a judge, possibly, on a popular talent show…who knows?

I received an invite to come and review the show. If I may boast a little, some of my best interviews as an entertainer myself, were with Tommy Shaw of Styx, David Pack of Ambrosia; (who I actually had the pleasure of singing on stage with at Spaghettini’s in Seal Beach, Ca.), and last but not least, smooth jazz artists, Mindi Abair and Peter White. My list could go on and on, but enough about me.

This residency in Las Vegas takes place at the Bakkt Theatre inside of Planet Hollywood. There were 2500 people in attendance, and most of the women had on Shania boots, hats, tops, you name it! It was a showdown!!!

Just to give you a heads up, arrive 3-4 hours early if you’re driving yourself. Or, you may want to travel in style like I tend to and come in a limo town car or Uber. When the doors opened for non VIP guests, they were ushered straight to the bar for drinks or snacks. However, bring lots of cash!! Drinks started at $27 each.

The theme of the concert was ‘Come On Over’! A few of the popular songs performed were her hits, ‘ Man, I Feel Like a Woman’, ‘Still the One’, ‘If You’re Not in It for Love’, ‘Any Man of Mine’, ‘From This Moment’, ‘Whose Bed have your Boots Been Under’, or as she and her band refer to it as “Boots”, ‘Honey I’m Home’, ‘That Don’t Impress Me Much’ to name a few. In the last year, a new song, ‘Giddy Up’ had a neat vibe, almost country hip hop.

One of my favorite songs from that night was ‘One Moment’- they elevated Shania on a slow rising pedestal in a gorgeous black gown, christmas tree shaped; very elegant for such a romantic song.

A common question when asked, “How do you feel about your looks 20 years ago and your looks now and aging?” Shania said, “You can’t do anything about aging. You just learn to live with it and own it and do the best with what you have now.” I agree, well said.
