Steamers of Pismo Beach, Ca.
Have you ever been on vacation and wanted to find a restaurant with a beautiful view, great service and a tempting menu? This is just what I found when I drove up to Steamers restaurant in Pismo Beach, Ca. The minute I entered the restaurant, I could see the ocean out of most of the windows, no matter where I chose to sit. I knew this was my kind of place. As a matter of fact, the place was packed, and this was during the week, not on a Friday night!
Steamers serves lunch and dinner. Since all hotels and restaurants are conveniently located in the town of Pismo Beach, Steamers is a popular dining place for many visitors and guests, within walking distance of their hotels. Every seat in the restaurant has a view of the ocean. Jay Britton, the Manager is very proud of his restaurant. The customer service that you experience from the staff is excellent. Many have been working there for a long time. So what does that tell you?
I started off with their award winning, ‘clam chowder’; very creamy and delicious. Then, I chose the ‘dinner salad’ with arugula lettuce, walnuts, and cherry vinagarette dressing. The main entree, ‘Chicken Saltimbocca’ was out of this world delicious. My photographer had the ‘White seabass’,lightly blackened, a newer item on the menu with herbed mashed potatoes. Since you can’t get chilean seabass any longer on a menu, this is a fabulous substitution. For dessert, we were served the ‘bread pudding‘. Look at this picture. Need I say more?
While at Steamers, you must encounter the Master bartender Tim.….here is a picture of him. He has a tremendous talent at mixing drinks, and he takes pride in what he does in his job. He’s created many signature drinks, that no one else can come close to. He names them after movies. For instance; ‘Breakfast at Tiffanys’, ‘Dr. Strangelove’, ‘Lost in Translation’. One of my favorites was his new drink, ‘Audition’. A zesty blend of bailey’s and jalapeno.
