The Galley Seafood Grill and Bar, Morro Bay, Ca

Originally, a family owned restaurant back in 1966. In the last few years, Wyatt Mello is the current Owner. In 2006, there were renovations to the interior decor. A very nice, trendy decor that is pleasant to the eye. I met with Shawn House, Manager who takes great pride in the restaurant. He was very hospitable. Shawn explained how their patrons have been coming to the restaurant for years. The service was outstanding and we had a wonderful waitress, Jenna, who shared a lot about living in Morro Bay. So, I’ll sum it up like this, once you find a great place to eat and wonderful ambience, you’ll always come back!!

My photographer and myself sampled the pan seared crab cakes and calamari strips for starters. Everything was tasty, especially the sauces. Then, for the main course, I had the ‘surf and turf’ – a bacon wrapped filet with Maine lobster tail. Out of this world!! And we tasted the halibut, which was from Alaska and excellent! The food is moderately priced and affordable for the whole family and you get a fabulous view of Morro Bay!!

If you choose to dine outside, there’s a wonderful seating area to enjoy the bay and sunset even more and experience the sounds of the sea life. You’ll even see otters in the bay. A true delight!
