Pepper Tree Inn, Tahoe City, Ca
Article by Joseph Chandler, Chief Journalist, IPA Magazine Travel

This is by far one of the better choices for lodging with a view in Tahoe City, North Lake Tahoe. I frequently travel to Lake Tahoe. I absolutely love this place, the staff; including Casey at the front desk and the General Manager, Brandon and the location; across from shops, trendy restaurants, music, a museum and beautiful blue Lake Tahoe!
A multi-story building, some of your best views of the lake are on the 5th, 6th and 7th floors. My room was very clean and quiet on the 7th floor. Rooms are accessible from an elevator and exterior walkways. The rooms feel like a small cabin with a warm, mountain decor. There is ample parking, as they have underground parking as well. An ice machine is available on the first floor as well as a laundry facility.
Catch the Tahoe Gal, a paddle wheeler, located across the street. It has all types of cruises available: Brunch, Happy Hour, Tour of Emerald Bay, Dinner Cruise; you name it! Visit their website at Tahoe Gal and make your reservation!
Concert at the Commons– celebrating 21 years of live music! It is happening now June 14-September 6, 2026, every Sunday!! You can literally walk from the hotel to the concerts that are beachside. Bring your chairs and a great attitude!

I will be back to the Pepper Tree Inn! For more information, check their website at Pepper Tree Tahoe for room reservations, specials, etc.
Pepper Tree Inn is a convenient drive to Kings Beach, Tahoe Vista and then to South Lake Tahoe. Of course, Truckee going North is a short drive also. I discovered Tahoe City Lake Forest boat launch and campground area where I did a little fishing…it was an absolutely beautiful day. A lot of boaters came through with families having a blast. Then, out of the blue, a boat pulled in called, ‘Gone Again’. It was 2500 HP…it looked like a rocket. I guess now I’ve seen it all, even in Lake Tahoe!!
